He soars on the gentle eddies of the Ether. His massive wingspan enveloping the stars and the cosmos around him. This is a trip he has made countless times. Except today, the destination is slightly different.

He can feel the presence of his destination long before he sees it. A small, fragile green and blue orb hanging delicately in the dark embrace of space. Few of the planets he has visited feel as this one does.

He gets closer, enjoying the journey. However, this time, he does not head towards Gaia, but rather Her sister, a bright pearl drifting ever at Gaia’s side. For that is where his soul sister Lavura resides.

Landing gently, He comes to rest next to her. Immediately, they intertwine. Scales rustle as they rub against one another. Wings enfolding and embracing. They both emit a deep harmonic hum as they greet each other. So linked, they come to rest, massive star-filled eyes coming to gaze upon Gaia.

“How go your Observances, my dear sister,” he asks.

“Well my brother, thank you,” she replies.

He moves closer to her, enjoying her presence and nearness. He closes his eyes and, in a whisper, asks, “What do you see?”

She settles into him and his question. It is a long moment before she replies.

“I see struggle,” she says.

He says nothing, patiently waiting; he knows she is just beginning.

“There is great dissonance and friction among them. The physical and energetic heaviness of the dimension in which they reside does not help this.” He relishes her soft voice, like a gentle breeze sighing through the trees.

“Many of them are still asleep. But we know that means nothing. This is a fast-growing and fast-learning species. Those who wake and begin to share their love and compassion grow every day. All this despite the incredible obstacles they face. Obstacles, which, are often of their own making. It is not easy to observe what they do to one another, to witness the frequently unconscious pain and destruction they force upon each other.”

He asks a single question, “Is there hope?”

The Universe sighs at the sound of her laugh, filled with eons of patience, wisdom, and love. She nudges him playfully, “Of course Eskelion, there is always hope.” He smiles at her answer, and he begins his deep hum anew at her playfulness.

“But as you know,” she continues, “the path and the outcome are entirely of their choosing. Such is the glorious burden of free will. Many of them seek answers externally rather than internally. Others still are blind to the repercussions of their actions. Most work under the impression they are separate. Fortunately, those who realize they are one see the depth of their inter-connectivity and are already helping to spread that knowledge is growing.

“They have everything they need not only to survive but also thrive. Only time will tell if they all can learn this in time to save themselves and each other.”

“Do you think they will make it?” He asks.

“What does your heart tell you?” She asks in reply.

He breathes deeply, letting the question land, “I worry for them,” He says. “But I am hopeful.”

She lays Her head down next to his. They both settle in waiting, watching with eager anticipation.

“As am I, dearest brother.

“As am I.”
